Rights and responsibilities
Before the War....
Married women did not have the right to work and often were discriminated against (Heinemann).
During the War....
Since the U.S. entered World War II, enormous quantities of airplanes, tanks, warships and rifles needed to be produced for use in the war. It was the women's responsibility to fill jobs because the men left for the war (The U. S. Home Front).
After the War.....
American women in WW II gained the responsibilities of the men’s jobs when the men went off to war. By gaining these responsibilities, the women also gained some rights. After all of these women joined the workforce, the women proved that they could be in the workforce. By proving this, women started to be seen as equals to men. From this, women workers gradually gained more rights over the years after WW II. There are millions of women today who are in the workforce doing important jobs.
